CURRICULUM VITAE OF THE THEATRE TROUPE
THEATRO DOMATIOU was founded in 1993 by Antzela Brouskou [actress-director] and Parthenopi Bouzouri [actress] in Athens, Greece.
It is made by a core of actors and other partners who work methodically under the form of workshops aiming at the expansion of the acting methods and practices in order to achieve a common code towards the demands of the current theatrical quest.
The character of the team is clearly inquiring and experimental with the broader meaning of the term as our basic need is to connect theatre with the extreme reality that we daily experience.
The conventional place of the performance through this approach changes into a field of collision, open dialogue and through between actors and audience, since art is placed on the centre of a violent actuality.
The material for our work has been texts from modern and classic dramaturgy as well as from Ancient Tragedy, which is the main axis of our search. Moreover, non-theatrical texts which serve as a mean to penetrate into a field of conscience where we rediscover the meaning of the theatre through queries which concern issues of the cruel times we are living in.
